Julia Wells, significant other of Ian Caladharas. Julia co runs the Wells Hotel in Erech’s Clocktower District. For those people who have rpg’d in this world: The Wells Hotel is now known as Cytheron’s. Julia and Ian tied the knot in the City of Greyrest in the Crossing Territories.
A lot of what’s planned for next week is what you have been talking about in the comments. A lot of who can do what. And as for Ian….Ian may be new at this, but he has one thing all the old -timers don’t have. He can actually project himself into an area and walk it. Others can look over an area, but he can actually project all of his senses there (like he did with the Underlevels of Amonson Lancaster City.)
And he is more versed with modern day hi-tech electronics and computers than the other teleports in the bunch are.
Michelle Erlandson, as former crew of Crystal One, may be at least as well versed as Ian there. However, she may not be available for such missions. For the other two, you have a point.
Ishara is good tactical support but I would not count on her for complex tech. Ariana is good on tactics, admin, and logistics but, a technician, she isn’t. However, Arianna can do one thing that Ian can’t; she can bring a tech with her.
Ian’s Far Sight capabilities is more useful for the initial search. However, Ian can bring a level of authority that Arianna can’t. This might be critical for the ship’s AI.
Teleporter capabilities:
1) Arianna — Because she has been apprenticing Ian has probably got the best handle on her teleporter capabilities. She is also the only one that we know for certain can carry “passengers”
2) Michelle Erlandson — All out favorite for distance. She has teleported interstellar distances from Crystal One. We do not know that she can go back, yet.
3) Ishara — Still operating by instinct otherwise, unknown. Not good for teaching, yet.
4) Ian — Still developing the skillz, apprenticed to Ariana. Definitely is not confirmed for passenger capabilities, yet.
True that but I was mostly referring to reader knowledge, which varies from reader to reader. 😉 What individuals know, like Miko, Ian, and Jules, may also vary although, most of our company in Maris Island, are mostly fully informed and all have need-to-know, as they are an active part of the strategic analysis and planning team.
I suspect there’s more to the teleporting than what we’ve seen so far. For instance, the destinations to date have all been stationary and in known locations.
This highlights the awesomeness of Michelle Erlandson and what she did. I would be very surprised if she was foolish enough to have not done it with a space suit. Crystal One was in motion in its own altered local state (Gage space), moving at multiple factors of light speed. The planet is in orbit, multiple light years away, with its own altered state due to local upload disruptions, and it is rotating. Yes, it’s all quantum data but it must be compensated for. Michelle managed to teleport safely in spite of those obstacles.
Actually, they have access to four teleporters, three of them more experienced than Ian;
1) Ishara
2) Ariana
3) Michelle Erlandson
4) Ian
I sense a scene break here. Next stop: Dana and Cassie in Erech?
Not yet. Beer and some more discussion…followed by Miko And Friends….(which needs to be a TV series)
Sure enough does sound like a TV series 😉
More info dump coming here? Very cool 😉

Correction: Ishara can carry passengers. She was Miko’s extraction team during the Starfall escapade.

Much depends on how large the “need to know” circle is.

Not true, Michelle teleported from Crystal One, in flight. Besides, in terms of teleportation, NOTHING is stationary!
By the way, even subspace is in motion; quantum mechanics dictates this.
