Due to family medical issues, Requiem is on indefinite hiatus.

An elderly family member of ours took a bad fall on Labor Day night, and we’ve been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Hopefully, things will get sorted out, but as of right now, doing a daily comic is not something my schedule can allow.

Sorry to have this happen, but as everyone knows, real life comes first….and at least we don’t have too many running storylines on the backburner.

Draw the Curtains, Part 7

The question is not just why they left, but where they went. I imagine it would be a non-trivial operation to move an entire house and their resources anywhere, let alone somewhere safe and hidden. They didn’t have time to create their own underground bunker system, and that’s the first place Ian would have looked for them if that was the case. They couldn’t go to Starfall because of the fog. Most places above ground on the mainland would be hard to hide in or not save from the ‘event’.
I’m wondering if there’s an additional portal out in the middle of nowhere that Markus took all his people through. Maybe that opens the door (literally) for a sequel storyline and setting. History could be repeating where Markus Vale becomes the next “First Mariner”.

Okay survived a killer infection, no covid. I do not recommend staying in hospital as long as I did. I busted out of their thanks to some aggressive docs, one regular the other infectious diseases…no not covid.

Oh dear, very sorry to hear about your relative’s bad fall. Similar thing happened to my mother in 2020. I am sure that you have a LOT to deal with.

We shall be waiting for you once you have taken care of things. Remember to take a breather as well. We’ll wait. Your web series is too good.

Understandable.  I’ve been in that situation myself.  Take care of yourself while this is going on.

You and yours definitely come first. The story will still be there when you can spare the resources. I’m far more prone to falling than I used to be and worry about my older family members, too.

    Y’all take care.
