What I want to know is why, in the face of an imminent extinction level attack the Taioseach and the Tanista were wandering around town together, unarmored and unescorted. Was Tobalkin messing with their heads? The Taioseach leads … The Tanist (or Tanista) goes to a place of safety to preserve the continuity of command and succession.

  In comic #4422 (2021 February 24), lockdown was scheduled for “tomorrow” (Day 3, Month of Second Sowing), all preparations were done, they thought they were safe. As Ian put it, “our last chance to do it before the world goes to hell.”
  
  Sadly, somebody thought that Day 2, Month of Second Sowing, was the perfect time for the second sowing of world death. Eight millenia (more or less) after the first sowing of world death.
  
  One can only hope that they got to eat lunch before the world went to hell.

Just caught up. Oh, this hurts. Julia was always one of my favorite characters. Good on you James, for not shying away from one of the many needful deaths, but it still hurts. Which, now that I think about it, is a testament to your writing.
