Based on the story to date, these seem to be the candidates that fit.
If I had to take a guess as to “Who” he actually is, I would say outright that we have not actually seen him yet. He’s likely using a similar form of what Bellisarius used to push people into doing things to nudge his little chess pieces into position. Prof. Gage is likely merely the most common recipient of his nudges, likely due to the professors natural intelligence (Likely reminds Dumuzi of himself a few thousand years ago).
Or maybe Dumuzi has a piece in all of them?
