Due to family medical issues, Requiem is on indefinite hiatus.

An elderly family member of ours took a bad fall on Labor Day night, and we’ve been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Hopefully, things will get sorted out, but as of right now, doing a daily comic is not something my schedule can allow.

Sorry to have this happen, but as everyone knows, real life comes first….and at least we don’t have too many running storylines on the backburner.

Palace, Part 12

Lisa Donnelly

Lisa Donnelly is the first apprentice The Dweller took once he rejoined the world, and is a lot closer to him than most people think.

Comics: 73
Recent Appearance: Ward, Part 16
First Appearance: Dweller, Part 4

The Dweller

The Dweller. Prophet. Statistician. Sometimes madman. It is unclear, even to himself, whether he is seeing the future or calculating probabilities better than the fastest computer in existence. Needless to say, The Dweller knows things, often before they happen.

Comics: 221
Recent Appearance: North Maris Island, Part 8
First Appearance: 2007-03-11

I’m curious as to what that promise is but that’s James’s plan, to make us curious enough to read the next episode. 😉

I spend hours daily reading graphic novels online (for pleasure as well as sociological interest). Therefore, I can say that this is one of the best treatments of an incredibly powerful dynamic that I have yet seen–Teacher-Student relationship.

From a strictly mystical tradition perspective, the sacredness of the link cannot be underemphasized. Kudos to you for the position taken in this strip. The Dweller is truly a mystic AND a TEACHER.

It is a shame that your stand on this situation is such a minority.

Thank you. It was very important to me that this section got done right. One of the things that irritate me the most is that too many writers take the easy way out when it comes to things like this (writing about them, I mean) and I really didn’t want to do that.

Bravo on having characters that are consistent within a “human” framework. In real life we hear too often of those that fail to live up to this standard. In fiction we usually see the standard ignored. You’ve made your two characters – and others – very human by their emotions, their behavior, and their standards.

    Good for you!
