Due to family medical issues, Requiem is on indefinite hiatus.

An elderly family member of ours took a bad fall on Labor Day night, and we’ve been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Hopefully, things will get sorted out, but as of right now, doing a daily comic is not something my schedule can allow.

Sorry to have this happen, but as everyone knows, real life comes first….and at least we don’t have too many running storylines on the backburner.

Why did Aileana conclude that people still talk about the privateers?

Dumuzi doesn’t know they spent ~50 years together, then about 3,000 years apart, they just happened to find each other a few days ago? He doesn’t seem to know what’s going on very well, does he?

People still talk about the privateers because of what they did back in the day. And what they did will be mentioned at a later time, though I will tell you that part of it involved the theft of 100 kgs of Uranium 235

What I don’t understand is how she concluded that from what Dumuzi said. How do you go from Dumuzi saying that X happened 3,000 years ago to people are still talking about X? Ishara verified that it was in the history books, but until she said so, Aileana didn’t seem to be aware of that.

Did she assume that Dumazi would have had a memory gap about that and had to relearn what happened recently? I realize that he does have memory gaps, but I don’t remember him saying anything to make her conclude that the Delahaye Sisters was one of the things he had forgotten.

Aileana didn’t think anyone remembered it at all. To her, the incident at the time was pretty damn trivial. She’s surprised that anyone thinks it was important enough to even remember it.

Just because a man claims to be ignorant…doesn’t mean that he is.

Even in our own pantheons, Dumuzi may not have been the bad guy, but he did have his faults.

100 kg uranium, at 4.5X weight of iron…heavy, but small.
