Due to family medical issues, Requiem is on indefinite hiatus.

An elderly family member of ours took a bad fall on Labor Day night, and we’ve been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Hopefully, things will get sorted out, but as of right now, doing a daily comic is not something my schedule can allow.

Sorry to have this happen, but as everyone knows, real life comes first….and at least we don’t have too many running storylines on the backburner.

Clarence, is that *really* the wisest thing to say to a girl holding a heavy machine gun one-handed?

Not a bad idea for your story’s anniversay.

I did it before a couple of times as an earlier test run of a few things (the deal in the dojo with Kate and Ena for one)

Who knows, if I come up with something good, I might do it again.

Oh yes, females and fire arms. Sexy as hell. Yes please, make with the clothes, Clarence. Bikinis would be a good place to start and then refine as required.

Isn’t 23 lbs of assault rifle a trifle heavy? Wikipedia sez the AK47 is about 10.5 lbs and the M-16 is about 8, and that’s with 30 round magazines, each. ‘Course Clarence may have loaded his up with after-market extras, too.

As a side note, Clarence doesn’t have to worry about actually machining the things he creates, so he could make guns and body armor out of any number of exotic materials that would be very effective but not practical for a manufacturer. Assuming such materials exist.

The weapon that Ena is toting is based off of the M249 SAW which runs at 17lbs empty and 22lbs loaded. I figured with some license on manufacturing methods, the gun that she is carrying would be around the 23lb mark.

The old M-60 was 23 lbs unloaded, a close match for this weapon. The heavier counterpart to the SAW is the M-240 GPMG, which replaced the ’60 and should look and weigh about what you are describing here.

Thank you for the correction on the number….I put the 249 in when it should have been the 240
