So, what to do with Olivia?

What do with Welles Sr. indeed…

In terms of justice, her life seems forfeit. Her death would not bring back any of those her decisions killed, but it will bring closure to some of the survivors. If there is to be mercy, then exile or imprisonment for life. Olivia doesn’t seem to be the type to thrive in isolation; I suspect she would find it a literal living Hell.

She makes quite a contrast to Targeter, who is also in charge of a group of very violent (but very disciplined) people. Targeter is acutely aware of the limits and cost of force as a tool, especially the cost to herself. I doubt that Olivia has ever considered “The Movement” in those terms.

Exile her and Kira Dawn on the same small island. Two peas in a pod – not even half a conscience between them.

I’m agreeing a quiet Exile on some small island is the preferable option.

She may be an uncaring bitch but she is quite possibly the main surviving Resistance leader left at present. Shooting her after the operation is over could create a matyr.
    A few years later maybe…

Remember she may be a bitch, but A) She is Julias’ mother, and B) she was conned by Denise on the murder attempt on Julia and on some of the other things. Remember Julia is going to run things soon she doesn’t need a history of Matricide or lifetime exile of her mother, that makes her an Evil Empress, ripe for revolution and overthrow. Exile also allows either someone to rescue Olivia, or for her to escape and possibly build an organization that might work. Better follow the old adage, keep your friends close and your enemies closer, keep her running Wells Hotels, with Targeter as her “Head of Security and Bodyguard” translation parole officer and defacto boss.

You know, there’s an old English tradition of retiring to a Nunnery. I don’t suppose there are any handy ones in this story? If not, maybe she could start exploring the tunnels. That gives everyone options.

I was always taught a “No live enemy.” policy. Olivia should get extinguished.
