While things are getting better a lot of things are still a trainwreck on my end.
While my cat has responded to the thyroid medication, she can’t take it as a pill which is the prime reason for all of her side effects (including being vomity as all hell)
So the mighty 15 year old furball is going to be getting a topical gel in her ears, and is on anti-nausea medication and a reduced dose of the pills until she can get on the gel.
That’s one thing that’s getting better…on the other hand, the day after I posted my message about things going on pause, an elderly family member banged themselves up in a fall and is still recovering.
So we are still in wait and see mode over here. When we know more, you’ll know more. 🙁
A nice touch of realism; without people to mow, trim or spray, or the constant abrasion of vehicles, plant life is quick to reclaim any / all available space.
On reflection, that could be another way to tell there were survivors in a post-apocalyptic urban area, if it seems relatively groomed compared to its surroundings.
There’d be places in the world where the groundskeeping was automated. Any other survivors would prioritze survival over mowing the lawn.
What would give people away would be trails through the tall grass where people’s feet regularly packed girt down and wore at the plants. I don’t think predators like packs of dogs would cross the same place in the same way enough to wear trails into the landscape.
Dogs and other animals all tend to follow the same trail. In addition, from the air human and game trails all look the same. The heavier the traffic the wider the track – and people do tend to walk on game trails if they’re available.
