Due to family medical issues, Requiem is on indefinite hiatus.
An elderly family member of ours took a bad fall on Labor Day night, and we’ve been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Hopefully, things will get sorted out, but as of right now, doing a daily comic is not something my schedule can allow.
Sorry to have this happen, but as everyone knows, real life comes first….and at least we don’t have too many running storylines on the backburner.
And then there’s the bit where the “friendship” with his mentor is shown only with a single line of dialogue while the rest of the movie has them verbally sniping at one another…
I have no idea if we’re talking about a specific movie here or movies in general, but my litmus test has always been – if you can watch the movie with the sound off and not mis any important plot points, they probably bought the script at Costco, on sale. Special effects are cool and I love a good action movie, but a well structured plot with developed characters are going to make ANY movie better. This is something completely foreign to hacks like Jar-Jar Abrams.
There are several classic films that don’t NEED dialog to be moving and entertaining, but that’s intentional on the part of the director.
