Due to family medical issues, Requiem is on indefinite hiatus.
An elderly family member of ours took a bad fall on Labor Day night, and we’ve been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Hopefully, things will get sorted out, but as of right now, doing a daily comic is not something my schedule can allow.
Sorry to have this happen, but as everyone knows, real life comes first….and at least we don’t have too many running storylines on the backburner.
This has been your regular reminder that every single data dump we’ve gotten at any point in this strip should really come with a bright neon “UNRELIABLE NARRATOR” warning sign.
Whether it’s memory issues, limited perspectives, “or so I heard”, or flat out shading the truth, it’s entirely possible that nothing we’ve been told so far is 100% accurate, and our poor protagonists are having to put the puzzle pieces together while at the same time trying to avert the end of the world.
Nina the Questioner is the closest thing you’re gonna get to a reliable narrator. Her exposure to Kobalt left her with a side effect, a literal aversion to deceit.
That’ll be good to know once we meet her. (I don’t think we’ve met her yet, unless it’s yet another name for Nin-Banda)
(JFTR, I am thoroughly enjoying reading this as it unfolds and occasionally just archive binging the whole thing just to recast everything in the light of later developments.)
It’s been staring me in the face for years and I may have my continuity wrong too…but.
With Demuzi we seem to have a Holy Trinity parallel. There’s the Father, the Demuzi who ascended, the Son, the Earthly Demuzi who sometimes talks to people. Or maybe he’s the Holy Spirit?
And it looks like the Holy Spirit (or perhaps the Son) is in revolt.
There are Catholic theologians that suggest that Catholic theology be realigned to raise Christ’s mother Mary to a 4th aspect of the Godhead, which would correspond to Adah.
Apropos of nothing, having established that Adah has exhausted her supply of ova, it might fit the quadrafecta for her to turn up pregnant.

I will tell you this, Rens… (spoiler)

He could be the Son/Holy Spirit and the Demuzi in rebellion would conform to the archangel Lucifer, aka Satan.
