Due to family medical issues, Requiem is on indefinite hiatus.

An elderly family member of ours took a bad fall on Labor Day night, and we’ve been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Hopefully, things will get sorted out, but as of right now, doing a daily comic is not something my schedule can allow.

Sorry to have this happen, but as everyone knows, real life comes first….and at least we don’t have too many running storylines on the backburner.

Of course, now I’ll undoubtedly get hate mail because one character actually takes the time to explain a situation in the comic…and actually, you know, investigate intelligence and dissect a situation.

Most definitely. This section is actually one of the newer ones and was put together about a year ago now because of an article I read about parked oil tankers.

At the time I started thinking about what exactly happens in the comic world to trans-oceanic shipments when something like Starfall happens. What about the legal side of things? Contraband? Unauthorized withdrawals from container ships out in the middle of the ocean? It definitely planted some seeds, helped tie off some lose ends, and serves as a bridge to things that happen in the near/far future.

This is something I’ve been wondering about for a while, ever since learning about House Mebhe, actually. I can see cruise and passenger ships returning to port immediately, or anything else with live cargo or crew. However, there would be a lot of orphaned automated shipping that may be in limbo with no one there to track it, or even care. There is also the issue of what to do with Ena’s house; that’s screaming for resolution as well.

In the old RPG world, there was a section of the Enkidu Delta that was polluted territory due to a number automated fuel tankers that had beached ashore in the aftermath of the collapse, and had been slowly leaking for decades.
