Due to family medical issues, Requiem is on indefinite hiatus.
An elderly family member of ours took a bad fall on Labor Day night, and we’ve been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Hopefully, things will get sorted out, but as of right now, doing a daily comic is not something my schedule can allow.
Sorry to have this happen, but as everyone knows, real life comes first….and at least we don’t have too many running storylines on the backburner.
Dana McAllen is a member of the urban exploration association that is currently investigating remnants of the worlds previous civilization. She initially made her debut in the Tunnelrunners side comic. She has been Ian's closest friend since early childhood, and is still his closest confidant.
“We can come back in the morning. I don’t want to be out here after dark.” Wise words by someone who realizes at least a few aspects of her world are essentially a horror movie.
Yeah. Adobe retired it at CS6 when they went cloud in favor of Elements and full Photoshop. Which is a shame sine I’ve used Fireworks since the old Macromedia days on Studio MX
A number of big producers are doing this. Why I know do Gnu C++, PostgreSQL, Gimp, and whomever is not forcing me to put my intellectual property on their insecure server. BTW, my definition of insecure is; any server that isn’t under my direct physical control.
Yeah, Adobe’s cloud setup is bullshit. Especially since you lose access to your stuff if you don’t pay the subscription. Don’t believe Adobe when they say how satisfied people are with it…that’s bullshit.
I used to use Paint Shop back in the day, but I really clicked with Fireworks. I got into it back in 2002 when Studio MX came out (and I was in the local Macromedia user group) and stuck with it. For web graphics, there isn’t anything out there that is quicker to use. Every Requiem since the beginning has been laid out in it.
Got to find something more current
I’ve never bought into Flash and I agree with Steve Jobs there. The problem isn’t in the approach but in the reliability and security. Flash has HUGE holes! The fools developing it had the same problems as NIS/Yellow Pages. The never considered Crackers as a serious threat.
Yeah, that was always the big problem with Flash (even though it got used an incredible amount)
I’ve stuck with fireworks due to ease of use, the fact that it can use Photoshop filters, and the fact that I can kick out a 300dpi image with it (print ready)
Of course, I also use Irfanview as well as my quick resizer/viewer. Every comic I’ve ever done goes through it before it hits the net.
Flash is *still* getting used a whole lot and it *still* has HUGE holes.
The end-users don’t really care. I would be nice if the Flash developers cared
BTW, Adobe is going the Cloud path, which I do NOT like.
