Thorondor “Ian” Caladharas is the 18 year old heir to one of the first of the Merchant Houses. An intelligent, independent teenager; Ian has a tendency towards irreverence and and frustration. In all honesty, he doesn’t care what his grandfather says he is heir to, he just wants to have a normal life. Or at least as normal a one as possible. (As my skills improved I made some revamps to this characters appearance to reflect aging and such as well. The top picture is how he is currently modeled. )
Jessica Tindal is the new appointed head of House Tindal. Jessica is 33 years old and spent a number of years as a professional musician (Bard) before being chosen for leadership.
To be fair, I’d have made the same guess — or if not entirely, that Olivia would at least be willing to have a polite discussion with Ian, maybe see if new blood would be more sympathetic to the independence movement.
… Of course, Jessica didn’t know just how heavily armed the Independence Movement already was (let’s face it, the Houses would damn well have stepped in first if they’d had even a clue. Angry dissidents clandestinely collecting milspec gear? Send in the marines, STAT, and worry about the fallout later), and she had no way of knowing about Callahan manipulating people from behind the scenes…
He probably still is, with the caveat of “… Just as soon as there’s a civil authority that isn’t raving pants-on-head crazy because we’ve kind of got an emergency here”.
Dehane is still out there, planning his endgame, and Ian knows it. They may not have time to bring a civil authority up to speed before then and this would be an exceptionally bad point for someone who has no idea what’s going on to go jogging the good guys’ elbows…
Oh, he is. And if there is still a world left when all of this is over, he’d like it too happen. He just wants there to actually be someone left to give some authority too.

Especially since Ian actually WAS a supporter of less House rule, and more authority in the hands of civil authorities.
