Excellent way to show how to cope with mourning on the personal and abstract scale. I had a similar thought looking at an image of a man sitting beside one of the exhibits of little white markers symbolizing those lost to the Covid pandemic. He was clearly thinking of someone in particular, while almost lost in the background of neat, white crosses behind and around him.
