That assumes Dehane would even know about the Tower markers. Probably would but..

What information do the Towers get from their markers? Could a marker ID Dehane in some way? that would argue for Dehane removing them.

How closely can a Tower pinpoint the location of a marker? How much location information do they store? Can Dehane be identified by where on the planet he goes?

So of he erases a marker would the Towers know? Probably. so the Towers would have a record of removal sites. If they start reoccurring in the same location, you have a possible lair site.

‘Way back in the original story, the Erech Tower sent a Throne (odd name for a being with wings) to assess/contain/retrieve Amena, after she was rescued from the North Tower. The Erech Tower knew precisely where she was (#1967/2011-03-09, #1982/2011-03-30).
