Due to family medical issues, Requiem is on indefinite hiatus.

An elderly family member of ours took a bad fall on Labor Day night, and we’ve been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Hopefully, things will get sorted out, but as of right now, doing a daily comic is not something my schedule can allow.

Sorry to have this happen, but as everyone knows, real life comes first….and at least we don’t have too many running storylines on the backburner.

OK. That puts Miko’s ‘NotLikeLand’ factor well beyond the raised eyebrow level.

I thought it was Ekur that was the memory master. Enki was Shoreham’s partner, the one that eventually high-tailed it with Jennifer Rains.

It sure was, I typo’d the living hell out of that name. I’m fixing it now that I am home from work.

I think we can eliminate both Ekur and Enki as Enki was (until his departure) heavily invested in finding a way to physically recover the uploads. Political / psychological manipulation wouldn’t be relevant to him until later. Most of the other Cobalts would appear to either lack the skill or the motivation to brain wipe rather than kill. Unless our Author is planing to introduce another, previously un-hinted at, character this late in the story (which would be aesthetically a bit tacky), we are down to Tobalkin or some aspect thereof, Dumuzi or some aspect thereof (I never trust white hats) or the clock-tower AI(s?). Any of them could be using her as an intelligence gathering tool.

The Clock Tower has already demonstrated the ability to edit and replace.
(And, why did Adah reappear on Star Fall?)

Some of the most successful AI programs we have today incorporate random function generators as part of their basic structure. If the clock-towers do the same, ‘why’ may just as easily be ‘why not’.

Actually, a myth discredited by the 1980’s, neural nets are so much better at it 😉

Is Adah not a self propelled, self directed neural net?
