While things are getting better a lot of things are still a trainwreck on my end.
While my cat has responded to the thyroid medication, she can’t take it as a pill which is the prime reason for all of her side effects (including being vomity as all hell)
So the mighty 15 year old furball is going to be getting a topical gel in her ears, and is on anti-nausea medication and a reduced dose of the pills until she can get on the gel.
That’s one thing that’s getting better…on the other hand, the day after I posted my message about things going on pause, an elderly family member banged themselves up in a fall and is still recovering.
So we are still in wait and see mode over here. When we know more, you’ll know more. 🙁
Dana McAllen is a member of the urban exploration association that is currently investigating remnants of the worlds previous civilization. She initially made her debut in the Tunnelrunners side comic. She has been Ian's closest friend since early childhood, and is still his closest confidant.
Except for the gat between Ishara’s place and the North Pole Tower, none of our gang has knowingly passed through a gateway, yet. Strangely, Ishara hasn’t said anything about the gateway at the main site. Granted, her gateway is fair different than the Homoucarian gateway that this appears to be.
Hers is a Kurshid gate from fixed point to fixed point. The gates that the Homoucar refugees, original settlers, used were more general and could transport across space, time, and even dimensions, without a matching gate at the other end. Enki did say that he managed to re-create the Homoucar technology and I believe that he was originally a Kurshid.
Ishara has said something about the main site gateway. Her and Ian were both together talking about it right in front of it. The section where they are talking about the pillars in the room when they first got here.
“Exploration time is officially over. We get back and we call this in now.”
“I can roll with that.”
Nice to see standard tropes just left laying on the shelf. No sticking body parts or even throwing rocks through the arch, just backing away and getting help.
You can get away with that trope on stories depending on the characters in it, and how they are written. But in the case of Dana, with the way it stands here, there is now way you could possibly justify her fucking around with this thing.
You can get away with this trope if you have characters who are stupid. Dana is FAR from it.

I believe that both Aileana and Ishara were in that scene with Ian.
