While things are getting better a lot of things are still a trainwreck on my end.
While my cat has responded to the thyroid medication, she can’t take it as a pill which is the prime reason for all of her side effects (including being vomity as all hell)
So the mighty 15 year old furball is going to be getting a topical gel in her ears, and is on anti-nausea medication and a reduced dose of the pills until she can get on the gel.
That’s one thing that’s getting better…on the other hand, the day after I posted my message about things going on pause, an elderly family member banged themselves up in a fall and is still recovering.
So we are still in wait and see mode over here. When we know more, you’ll know more. š
I know that feeling and I can’t imagine what it would be like when its someone you have known and had a relationship with for more than a 1,000 years. My first wife and our 1 year old daughter were killed by a drunk driver in 1984 and I was in a fog like that for almost 6 years. It hurts to think about even today, 29 years later, especially this time of year as my daughters 30th birthday is on January 19 and they were killed on January 20.
Grief is hard to write about. Everybody has felt it at some point in time…but finding the right words to actually articulate it and express it…I stared at this comic for about 4 days before I finally figured out what Ish was gonna say.
At the time I was a young protestant minister and I had been extensively trained in grief counseling and had experience with it personally and professionally. I understood what was going on but when you have a deep connection with someone and that is suddenly ended, it hurts and when its a child its even worse because there is a biological connection as well. There is a country song sung by Lee Brice that has been out for a few years called “I Drive Your Truck” which is based on the true story the writer of the song, Connie Harrington heard about a man who had lost his son in Afghanistan that expresses this connection. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SFyV3LTcTI
I am sorry you had to go through that, seriously.

Awesome comic, took me a month and 3 pages of notes to do my first read-through of the archive.
