Due to family medical issues, Requiem is on indefinite hiatus.
An elderly family member of ours took a bad fall on Labor Day night, and we’ve been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Hopefully, things will get sorted out, but as of right now, doing a daily comic is not something my schedule can allow.
Sorry to have this happen, but as everyone knows, real life comes first….and at least we don’t have too many running storylines on the backburner.
The sound of “HISSSSS” reminds me of someone wetting their fingers and snuffing out a candle whick.
Which, regardless of how things eventually progress, seems rather fitting for this flaming skeleton of a creature.
I’m not so sure. I think it might be the end of Bellisarius.
But not his army.
After all there is another who knows of it, probably has the resources to open the tunnels and still wants to depopulate the world a touch.
And we already know she is a manipulative B*tch. A fact Bellisarius has just realised too.
Anyone high up in his military would have the knowledge (he can’t have been crazy enough to deny them that as he needed them to make decisions whilst he spent time with Calliel). As to motivation…
I Guess it depends on just how much of his military was on ice.
Granted he won’t have frozen the lot, but it sounded like he had pretty much no real communication to the outside world so the only ones who probably know anything will be trapped in there with him.
Awe-Some!!
What a beautiful ending to such a awful person.
Even if he is not dead Bellisarius must be out of the picture for awhile.
I was wondering where you were going with this.
He opened a doorway and a bullet came through. If you follow the very consistent logic of this story, he’s as dead as his son. Bellisarius should have heeded the rule that historians follow: believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear.
Suicide like that is not a very easy way to kill your self. It’s hard to tell the angle of the gun, recoil hurt aim even more, and the bullet tends to deflect off the skull and ride around under the scalp. In this specific instance the silencer would make it harder and with the subsonic ammo would lower recoil while offering less penetrating power.
Although this does not mean Bellisarius was not killed, We know from earlier that the flame state was taxing for him. He already had lost energy from his second attempt. When he did it he implied that this was the first time he had tried something like this. Just the shock from the pain plus believing he was dieing* could have killed him.

On to the “new(er)” villians!
