Regarding Aya – since she’s been exiled, it’ll take her a while to notice much of anything. She also hasn’t shown much analytical ability so far. These people are far more powerful than her – they have to be safe from her at this point.
I also can’t believe that Ian hasn’t found out about his parentage. A lot of people know about it and one of them will try to take advantage of the knowledge sooner than later if they haven’t already.
He has found out, he just doesn’t know he did.
