Due to family medical issues, Requiem is on indefinite hiatus.

An elderly family member of ours took a bad fall on Labor Day night, and we’ve been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Hopefully, things will get sorted out, but as of right now, doing a daily comic is not something my schedule can allow.

Sorry to have this happen, but as everyone knows, real life comes first….and at least we don’t have too many running storylines on the backburner.

Keighvin, Part 4

Ishara

Ishara is one of the Ancients….and is the lady who assisted the Deep Scaled People against the Khurshid.

Comics: 523
Recent Appearance: Leftovers, Part 2
First Appearance: The Coming of An Ancient, Part 1

Keighvin Zerus

Keighvin Zerus, Ishara’s (off/on/off) husband. He is also one of the people who have been exposed to the Sentience Virus. Keighvin was the founder of the city of the same name when he first met Ishara some three thousand years ago. He keeps a fairly low profile these days, as there are still a few people out there who would recognize him :)

Recent Appearance: Empty, Part 3
First Appearance: Keighvin, Part 1

Arghhhh! I just read over five years worth of archives in approximately three days, and now I have to wait day by day for the story to continue! Great story though – keep up the fantastic work!

I re-read the whole thing about once a year – but I take a week to do it. Three days! Whew!

So Ishara was the one who warned the Deep Scaled Ones? I thought she was but, with them leaving that part of the tunnels alone, I couldn’t be sure.

Yes, she was. It was her most significant intervention; she’s largely kept out of their way since.

You know, that’s got to be the longest doctoral project ever!

Most definitely. She’s been studying them for a good long time, in addition to a lot of other things down in the dark.

How many of these folk are there and are they actually humanoid. or as they like the ones earlier in the story?

      *SPOILER*

Of the Khurshid (people like Calliel, The Dweller, and such…there are three more that we haven’t dealt with. One of which we will be meeting next week when The Dweller goes for a visit.

Of the second group, aka people who have been chaged by the Khurshid over the years, companions and lovers basically, there are roughly twenty of them left alive. Jauna Mekhet is in that category, as it Keighvin here.

And the final group of Ancients are the ones that Ariana belongs to, which number somewhere in the neighborhood of 100. In the future they’ll come out of seclusion and marry into a large number of the ranching families in te River Crossing Territories.

Oh, and all of them are of human/humanoid stock for the most part, though there are a few others (Deep Scaled Ones) who were exposed. Though there are currently no plans for any of them to appear in this story cycle.
