There is no sentience there, and Jazz would look at anyone who implied that there was as if they were an idiot. Jazz didn’t build three sentient beings. She NEVER would.
All of her safeguards on them were put together so another thing like The Towers could never accidentally arise. So sentience will never arise. Let’s be clear, she generally hates AI’s. She doesn’t trust them one goddamn bit. The only ones she’ll give a fair shake to are the units like EDGAR (they’re metal people as far as she’s concerned) But anything else? They are the equivalent of purpose-built devices. They are more sophisticated toasters, that’s it.
Many are confuse between sentience and sapience. Sapience is an encyclopedia. sentience provides the will to use it. Expert systems, like what Jazz as described here, are not sentient regardless of how sapient they are.
Power is done off a closed system that is not connected to any grid and is provided by a set of dedicated solar panels. And the system does not connect to anything else.
