I just read this for the tenth time and it still doesn’t parse well. The main thing is; When did Dumuzi ever even talk to Clarence, let alone lie to him? The second thing is; Which ‘he’ has someone to love him? The third is; Who isn’t real? We know Dumuzi isn’t but we don’t know that anyone loves him; is she refering to Clarence?
I see it more as Dumuzi lied by how he set Gage up with his life. It isn’t a literal lie but more how Dumuzi has let Gage understand the world.
As for the second two it seems pretty clear they are talking about Gage. The person who loves him is Ena MacSwain and Gage isn’t a real person.
By that he is not a real person does it mean a GOD or the Good Tulpa of the Prime?
A refernce is also made of Tulpa’s of Dead goods if I remember well and of many gods, what that mean Cage was one?
Dumuzi does confirm that he had subdivided, does does that mean that Cage is the made instance of Dumuzi who forgot himself after the last breaking of a world?
Now takin a look at the statement for the 2nd time makes me think…
When the lady says “fucking god”, is it exclamation or that she means he is somehow prime related?
I mean small caps are used and the gord god only appears after the adjective.
Mmm, I thought the Essenes were like the Israelites (Rabbe = Rabbi). Is their arrival pre-monotheism? I seem to recall the children of Israel getting the idea of monotheism from the Egyptians (the Aten which was Akhenaten’s failed idea to wrest power from the priests). I see monotheists capitalising the word god but not polytheists.
Yes, the Essenes are early the early jewish sect of the same name (that John The Baptist was thought to be a memeber of in some writings) A lot of the religious groups here came from who was on the boats that arrived. So you have some cletic influences, Phoenician, early mithraism, some Greek/Athenian/Roman and several mystery cult type groups.
Nowadays though, religion has generally fallen out of general devout worship (6000 some odd years after arrival) with of course the exception of some small groups (like the Essene)
There are some religious customs that have become secularized as well (like the handfast as the dominant wedding ceremony)
