While things are getting better a lot of things are still a trainwreck on my end.
While my cat has responded to the thyroid medication, she can’t take it as a pill which is the prime reason for all of her side effects (including being vomity as all hell)
So the mighty 15 year old furball is going to be getting a topical gel in her ears, and is on anti-nausea medication and a reduced dose of the pills until she can get on the gel.
That’s one thing that’s getting better…on the other hand, the day after I posted my message about things going on pause, an elderly family member banged themselves up in a fall and is still recovering.
So we are still in wait and see mode over here. When we know more, you’ll know more. 🙁
An immortal who STILL hasn’t gotten around to having her appendix taken out? Talk about the little things coming back to haunt you…
As a world-class procrastinator myself though, I can see how at least some immortals would also be subject to that particular fault. To the point where more and more gets put off, until (if they still have contact with mortals) they’re like a high-functioning psychopath: capable of faking normal interaction but with a mentality far removed from the human mean.
Exactly. If you don’t experience any health problems for the most part, people just let things go. I know plenty of people like that…heck, I’m like that.
There are a couple of others out there who are in the same boat with regards to the appendix. The Dweller is one.
Eh, also just because we don’t know what the appendix does, doesn’t mean that it has no function. Tonsils were long considered expendable but they are an important part of our immune system as is the spleen.

Looks like the appendix may have some immune function as well:
