Due to family medical issues, Requiem is on indefinite hiatus.

An elderly family member of ours took a bad fall on Labor Day night, and we’ve been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Hopefully, things will get sorted out, but as of right now, doing a daily comic is not something my schedule can allow.

Sorry to have this happen, but as everyone knows, real life comes first….and at least we don’t have too many running storylines on the backburner.

Yep. Two reasons, what is the data on the tag and can’t wait to hear what Clarence has to say when confronted with the news that he is one of two people without the RFID tag. I can think of several reasons why. The two obvious are that Clarence could have been on the original ship or he could be from an alternate reality and not realize that he and his other self switched realities while working on some of their projects.

The question that really bugs me though is do the threllichock and other non-human sentients on the planet have the same RFID marker? What about the people from the first civilization? I would think that the answer is yes since they are the ones who built the clock towers and the threllichock were originally their genetically engineered workers.

Yes, and yes. There are a few oddities here and there, but I’m not gonna get too deeply into them (possible spoiler territory)

I almost sent the comments I made after this one in private email because of the possibility of spoilers. But then, the information I have is the same as everyone else so I posted the stuff about Dumuzi publicly. BTW, I have always been a fan of graphic novels and this is the best one I have ever come across in print or online and I have in storage just about every Heavy Metal ever published and a lot of other stuff including the first Dark Knight graphic novel. Love your work, keep it up!

I was just doing a little bit of research in the archives and I think I know why Clarence does not have an RFID tag. http://requiem.spiderforest.com/?p=5642

Clarence is Dumuzi. I remember when I first read this that I thought Clarence had duplicated a lot of what Dumuzi had discovered. The part at the end about Dumuzi being bodiless and able to be ANYWHERE or ANYONE didn’t sink in completely.

    Two comments:

1.) The Threllichock know a helluva lot more than they’re letting on.

2.) Donald, that actually makes some sense.

3.) Of course, if he’s the Dumuzi archetype, you know what’s comin’, right? James will give it a neat and inventive twist, if that’s true, but still…

    So…which one’s Inanna, again?

Yep and it is possible that Clarence does not even realize that he is Dumuzi. He may not know it consciously. One of the areas explored by many Sci Fi authors is immortality and how it effects the memory storage in the brain. While our brains are amazing and can hold 5 petabytes worth of information (according to Arthur C Clarke) eventually they will reach a point where they are full and you have to selectively forget things. See Zelazny Amber series and Robert Heinlein’s character – Lazarus Long where memory is edited out. Of course with the possibility of storage in the universe itself as a mechanism. There could be a pointer his brain to that information and all it takes is the proper trigger to access the memory dump. Being that he is currently exploring the clock towers there is a high probability that they will trigger that access.
