Julia makes a telling point: most if not all of the “nice” immortals seem to have extensive emotional / social ties with each other and mortals. I seem to remember both Ishara and the Dweller saying that was vital to keeping them sane.
The Man With Dead Eyes and his ilk seem to be exceptions… and like mortal psychopaths, very dangerous ones.
