Due to family medical issues, Requiem is on indefinite hiatus.
An elderly family member of ours took a bad fall on Labor Day night, and we’ve been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Hopefully, things will get sorted out, but as of right now, doing a daily comic is not something my schedule can allow.
Sorry to have this happen, but as everyone knows, real life comes first….and at least we don’t have too many running storylines on the backburner.
Julia Wells, significant other of Ian Caladharas. Julia co runs the Wells Hotel in Erech’s Clocktower District. For those people who have rpg’d in this world: The Wells Hotel is now known as Cytheron’s. Julia and Ian tied the knot in the City of Greyrest in the Crossing Territories.
There’s all sort of reasons to fake a death under these circumstances. It gives the “dead” person freedom to do stuff. If news of the death gets to the enemy it might be trackable back to agents at home.
I really hope I am wrong, but I am afraid that it is Julia’s remains. Look at the character list, above.
Since Julia and Ian were both infected by the same batch of Kronos (earlier strain kept by the Threllichock, not this shit), one may presume that Ian also is dead.
I’ve been wrong on a lot of my guesses, I hope I am wrong this time also.
Ian is not dead because the bad guys did not take out the immunity of his real (Bellisarius) grandfather’s dna because they thought all of them were already dead.
Somehow the whole story on a full archive binge was just waiting for this one. All the hopes and plans in the world weren’t enough, all the conversations and discussions, while knowing that the poor pair had no future together. Excellent storytelling even with the hindsight of a re-read.
I’m still wondering if this was what Etain was referring to when she hoped her numbers were wrong on the next wedding in the Keep…
We have a skeleton wearing Julia’s bracelet. Not necessarily Julia.
Really hoping it isn’t her. But I understand things are going to get bad.
Pretty sad
