Poolside, Part 7
Behind the scenes over the last week, I’ve been working on a major update/modernization of Julia Wells (the same kind of thing that went on with Targeter, Miko, and others.) These comics by the pool will be the last you see of her using the old model. As for what she’ll look like in the future? I think it’s an improvement, but I’ll let you be the judge of that 🙂
Lets make one thing abundantly clear….there will NEVER be a Vic 7 used by me, in any comic, EVER. And the reason is simple….it won’t work in anything other than DAZ Studio. And I despise the current versions of DAZ Studio
I detest the interface so much that I won’t even touch it these days, and DAZ is making most of it’s content in DAZ (with it’s own unique file format) now…and ignoring Carrara in the process. I barely buy anything from DAZ anymore for just that reason. They won’t even update Carrara so that importing DAZ file format content in doesn’t cause problems, or so that it will allow you to use the newest character models.
It irks me all to hell, frankly…and has made a lot of things, incidentally, more difficult in the process.
I also don’t have the legacy issues you do.
I’ve noticed that in panels where Julia’s mouth is open, she’s got maybe a wee smidge of an overbite (or maybe just buck teeth). Will the new model have that too? I sort of hope so!
And that is a combination of model and program issues. I can fix the model issues now…the program issues are due to using a model in one program when it was originally made for another. Most of the time things are around 98% compatible and there is never any issue. But when that 2% shows up….oh god 🙁
